Coventry, England - Wednesday, 24th August 2016:  The Jaguar I-TYPE has had its first official shakedown today (Tuesday 23rd August) at the Donington Park circuit, at the first official FIA Formula E test.

Jaguar Racing will continue to test for the next two days, and for another three days between the 5-7th Sept 2016, ahead of the team launch on the 8th September.  Jaguar's first Formula E Race will take place in Hong Kong on October 9th

Jaguar has an enviable motorsport history, winning the famous Le Mans 24 Hours seven times – more than any other British manufacturer – to name just one race. Through competition, Jaguar has developed new technologies, most famously pioneering the use of the disc brake in racing.

Formula E, unlike other forms of motorsport, will provide Jaguar with a real-world performance test bed for Jaguar Land Rover to develop its future EV powertrains, pushing the boundaries of electric technology in an intensely competitive, high performance environment.

As the UK's leading investor in automotive research and development, Jaguar Land Rover employs over 8,000 engineers. Jaguar's Formula E team will be able to draw upon this massive resource, with Jaguar Land Rover engineers working closely with the race operations team.

Those engineers will not only be able to apply their knowledge within the race team environment but, crucially, use the experience to extract data that will directly aid the development of Jaguar's future electric cars.

We are proud to announce the launch of our official FIA Formula E Jaguar Racing Twitter and Instagram channels.

We've always created cars that excite the senses. And ahead of our #FormulaE Season 3 debut, we're preparing to excite again. #JaguarElectrifies.
