Introducing a revolutionary new motorcycle, Suzuki Australia has released its first-ever production supermotard machine - the exciting new four-stroke DR-Z400SM.

“Suzuki has released the new DR-Z400SM in response to the booming supermotard market around the globe,” Glyn Griffiths, National Marketing Manager – Motorcycles, Suzuki Australia said.

“The supermotard is an extremely versatile motorcycle… it allows riders the freedom for off-road adventures and the practicality of road registerabilty, without compromising on exceptional performance and handling.

“We expect production supermotard machines to be the next big trend in Australia and we’re excited about our first foray into this untapped market.”

Suzuki’s all-new supermotard machine is engineered for sporting performance and versatility, basing its design on the incredibly popular DR-Z400E.

The power-packed Suzuki DR-Z400SM employs a 398cc, four-stroke, single cylinder, DOHC, liquid cooled engine to offer plenty of torque right across the powerband.

Combining the exceptionally compact powerplant with a slim, lightweight chassis design, the new 100% street-legal DR-Z400SM machine offers the perfect balance for handling on and off road.

Derived from Suzuki’s World Supercross GP Championship winning RM250, the supermotard’s fully adjustable suspension, including inverted front forks, is tailored for superior off-road handling and smooth street performance.

Riding on wide, 17-inch, high-grip radial tyres, black aluminium rims, large diameter disc brakes and finished with an aggressive black livery, the DR-Z400SM offers cool street cred and exhilarating performance.

Featuring a 12-month unlimited kilometre warranty, the 2006 Suzuki DR-Z400SM is now available in Australia in September at a suggested retail price of $9,590 (inc GST).
