BMW Motorrad is redefining the mid-range experience with the all-new F 900 R and F 900 XR. Scheduled for local market launch in Q1 of 2025, these dynamic machines are poised to captivate both experienced riders and newcomers. Engineered for pure riding pleasure, the sleek roadster and long-distance sports bike promise an unparalleled blend of sportiness and fun, with even more agile handling.
Tried-and-tested two-cylinder in-line engine with Euro 5+ homologation and a significantly expanded portfolio of standard equipment
The all-new BMW F 900 R and F 900 XR boasts a two-cylinder in-line engine with 895cc capacity and 77kW (105hp) of power output, as well as a full-bodied torque curve that complies with the current Euro 5+ homologation. With a 270/450 degree firing interval, both engines generate rich, throaty exhaust notes. The new additional sports silencer, available as a genuine BMW Motorrad Accessory, further amplifies the engines auditory experience.
Both models previously offered two riding modes as standard, “Rain” and “Road.”
Both the F 900 R and F 900 XR now offer the “Dynamic” riding mode as an additional standard mode. It has a particularly direct throttle response curve, making it ideal for an engaging, spirited riding experience.
Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), which ensures a high level of riding safety, now comes as standard on both models to ensure maximum riding safety, especially in changing riding conditions. The engine drag torque control is also fitted as standard. It prevents rear wheel spin as well as skidding, which can occur from abrupt throttle release or downshifting.
Fully adjustable upside-down forks to allow the chassis to be specifically adapted to individual requirements and wheels that are around 1.8 kg lighter offer significant gains in handling, accelerating and braking
On both the new BMW F 900 R and F 900 XR, the front wheel is equipped with new upside-down telescopic forks that are torsionally rigid and feature 43mm slider tubes. These forks offer adjustability for both rebound and compression damping, as well as spring preload. This customisability enables the forks to be tuned to the specific preferences of the individual rider.
Both models are also equipped with new 17-inch cast aluminium wheels. They weigh around 1.8kg less than the previous models, contributing to a total weight reduction of 3kg.
BMW Motorrad ABS Pro and Dynamic Brake Control (DBC) are further additions to the lineup of extended standard equipment. Compared with the standard BMW Motorrad ABS, the ABS Pro system goes one step further and offers enhanced safety when braking around corners by enabling ABS-assisted braking.
New battery fitted as standard and function-integrated turn indicator lights in the new rear end, seamlessly blending form and function for a sleek, modern appearance
The latest models of the roadster and sports bike have been fitted with a brand-new battery pack that is 800g lighter than that of their predecessors. This significant weight reduction enhances the overall performance and handling of these models while also contributing to improved fuel efficiency. They also have a new rear end with function-integrated turn indicators lights (brake and taillight functions are integrated into the turn indicator lights).
The F 900 XR comes equipped with the Headlight Pro as a standard feature. This includes daytime running lights and adaptive headlights that provide enhanced illumination of the roads and improved visibility when riding at night. Other new standard features of the F 900 XR include the USB-C charging port on the right-hand side of the cockpit with a maximum charging current of 2.4A and the heated grips.
Optimised ergonomics for the BMW F 900 R thanks to a redefined position of the handlebars and footrests
The handlebars, footrests and foot levers of the ergonomic triangle between the handlebars, seat and footrests of the new BMW F 900 R have been redesigned.
This has made it possible to create a riding position that is significantly more sporty, dynamic and closer to the front wheel.
The new F 900 R’s increased sporting ambitions are emphasised by the headlamp side trim painted in body colour.
BMW F 900 XR comes equipped with optimised aerodynamics to improve performance, while hand protectors are now fitted as standard
The new BMW F 900 XR offers even more touring capability and long-distance comfort thanks to optimised aerodynamics in the front fairing. The redesigned wind deflector reduces wind pressure on the rider, resulting in significantly less helmet vibration and even greater riding comfort. The hand protectors, which are standard for all equipment variants, also provides improved protection from the elements.
Three distinctive colourways available for each model to suit individual riders preference
The new F 900 R is available in three striking colours. The basic variant is available in Snapper Rocks Blue metallic, the Triple Black version in Black Storm metallic and the Sport version in Light White with Racing Blue metallic.
The new BMW F 900 XR will also be available in three variants and colours for the upcoming motorcycle season. The basic variant is available in Racing Red, the Triple Black version in Black Storm metallic and the Sport version in Light White with Racing Blue metallic.
