Glenn Allerton, riding the Dynotech Maxima BMW HP4, has completed a clean sweep in Round 1 of the QBE Australian Superbike Championship held at Symmons Plains in Tasmania.

The BMW rider was the quickest man in every session over the weekend, taking maximum points from the round and now leads the championship by 11 points.

In Race 1, Allerton got off to a slow start, but an early race incident saw the 'red flag' deployed and the race was subsequently re-started. Allerton made the most of the re-start and dominated the race from start to finish.

In Race 2, Allerton and the BMW HP4 continued the domination of the 16-lap race, taking the win and making a statement of intent for the rest of the season.

Allerton was thrilled with the round. "I am really happy with this weekend's racing; it couldn't have gone much better. This is what we have all been working for. Hopefully we can keep it together and keep building," said Allerton.

General Manager BMW Motorrad Australia and New Zealand, Tony Sesto, was delighted with the results.

"Congratulations to Glenn and the Dynotech Maxima BMW Team. The BMW HP4 is a new model and they have worked hard in getting the bike ready for action. The results speak for themselves, it's going to be an exciting season of racing," said Sesto.
