Sydney, 16 September 2024 – Production for Australia of Škoda’s Enyaq Coupé and Enyaq Coupé RS battery electric vehicle (BEV) is underway in the Czech Republic with customer deliveries from December.

Winner of multiple awards in Europe, where almost 200,000 have been sold, Škoda’s Enyaq will be initially available here either as a longer range rear-wheel-drive Sportline (561km WLTP) or as performance focussed all-wheel-drive RS (530km WLTP).

Enyaq enters this market shortly after a mid-life upgrade which brought an extra 60kW for the Sportline (now 210kW) and a further 30kW to the RS for 250kW – the most powerful production Škoda to date.

Priced from $69,990 RRP* (or $198 per week over a five year term through Škoda Choice**), the Sportline is also available with the $6,000 Ultimate Pack that adds Augmented Reality Head-Up Display, Adaptive Chassis Control, CANTON sound, Area View, heated rear outboard seats,  heat insulating windshield, intelligent park assist and the distinctive ‘Crystal Face’ LED grille.

Starting at $83,990*, the Enyaq RS includes the Ultimate Pack as standard and, of course, its hot hatchback performance.

The mid-life optimisations of the Enyaq extend the range (up to 24km further); hasten DC charging with 175kW (plus 40kW), and charge from 10% to 80% capacity in 28 minutes – 8 minutes quicker than previously.

Unlike the batteries that equip some more familiar BEVs, the Škoda Enyaq’s are built with individually repairable modules that remove the need to replace the whole battery in the event of an internal component failure. The same MEB battery in a Volkswagen has been independently tested over 100,000km, including frequent 100% charging cycles, after which capacity remained at 93%.

While the Enyaq gives Škoda’s interior a new accent, any owner of a Kodiaq or Octavia will find familiarity in form and function. The new hero feature is Augmented Reality Head-Up Display which conveys speed, lane assist, adaptive cruise control, front assistant functions and Apple Maps direction on iPhone and Google Maps for Android.  Wireless phone charging is standard as are metallic paint and panoramic sunroof.

Regenerative braking can be applied by degree with the steering wheel paddles – the greater the regenerative braking intensity applied, the  more pronounced the braking, which is more intensive than normal battery charging. Mode 2 and 3 charging cables are standard to all Enyaqs, which is the only comparable vehicle with Proactive seatbelts.

The coupé shape built upon modular MEB underpinnings gives superior aerodynamics with a drag coefficient of 0.234 contributing to the Sportline’s 6.7 second and the Enyaq RS’s 5.5 second 0-100km/h sprint time. Unusually in this class, the RS has adjustable suspension.

Škoda’s  Enyaq comes with seven year warranty and 8 year/160,000km battery warranty, with the options of seven year discounted service pack, clear weekly repayments and Guaranteed Future Value. There is also the backing of an established nationwide network.
