Due to the success of the 2007 Portfolio Limited Edition - which
was primarily sold before the cars even landed on Australian shores
- Jaguar is releasing a second very limited edition XKR Portfolio.
The 2008 XKR Portfolio will feature notable additions to the
already strong specification of the XKR, which is capable of
hitting an electronically controlled top speed of 250km/h and can
accelerate to 100km/h in just 5.2 seconds.
The XKR's already powerful sporting styling cues - an enhanced
front bumper, bonnet louvres and aluminium-finish grilles and side
power vents will remain and exclusive Shadow Grey exterior paint
and 20-inch Selena five spoke alloy wheels in shadow finish
featuring red Jaguar "Heritage" centre badges add to the overall
presence.
The XKR's interior represents a truly sophisticated yet driver
focussed environment thanks to class leading ergonomics, user
friendly in-car technology and simple, clear information displays
in the instrument panel and main dashboard area. The XKR Portfolio
will combine this acclaimed design and performance with Jaguar's
engineering and craftsmanship skills to take the XKR to an even
higher level.
Jaguar's Special Vehicles team has worked alongside leading
brake manufacturer Alcon to create the largest, most powerful
brakes a production Jaguar has ever carried. This was conceived
after extensive testing at Jaguar's specialist engineering
centre.
The cabin is characterised by craftsmanship and premium quality
materials, from the Alston headlining to the Engine Spin Aluminium
veneers. The Softgrain leather upholstery is available in a choice
of two exclusive colour ways - Warm charcoal with cranberry
contrast twin needle stitching, or Ivory and Charcoal with Slate
contrast twin needle stitching. The alloy gear selector, with
polished metal gearshift surround, is trimmed with leather, and
there are leather edged carpet mats and "Portfolio" scripted tread
plates.
The XKR Portfolio also features the very special surround sound
system from renowned audio entertainment specialists Bowers and
Wilkins. Taking Jaguar's 525W Premium Audio system with Dolby Pro
Logic II surround sound as a starting point, Bowers and Wilkins
have crafted a signature speaker system specifically for the XKR's
cabin. High-output, low distortion Kevlar mid-range speakers and
specially designed aluminium dome tweeters deliver superb mid-range
and extended high-frequency responses.
Dorian Lapthorne, General Manager, Jaguar Australia, commented
"We received a phenomenal response last year when the XKR Portfolio
was released. The specification is quite unique, and very special.
It combines breathtaking performance and dramatic beauty with
exclusive, individual touches of craftsmanship and equipment that
lift it to another level. The XKR Portfolio continues our program
our creating exclusive bespoke vehicles for our customers"
To underline the exclusivity of the XKR Portfolio, there will
only be 10 units available for sale in the Australian market. All
vehicles are in coupe style. The XKR Portfolio will carry a
recommended retail price of $246,000 and will be available for sale
in July.
