- Peugeot 3008 and 508 models receive standard-fitment reverse camera
- 2008 compact SUV gains upgraded reverse camera as standard
Peugeot Australia has improved the safety quotient of its 2008 and 3008 SUV through the adoption of a reverse camera as standard fitment, while the 2008 compact SUV range will also introduce a locally engineered reverse camera.
This update will see the important safety feature and driver aid adopted as standard across both models.
Additionally, forthcoming 508 models will gain a reverse camera as standard, previously available only on Allure and GT models.
The improved system displays the rearward image with guidelines on the 2008's standard 7 inch touchscreen improving visibility, safety and driver perception compared to the previous 1.5 inch reverse mirror-mounted system.
Peugeot Australia General Manager, John Startari, said that the adoption of reverse camera technology on 2008, 3008 and 508 improves the safety of the Peugeot range.
"We see the addition of reverse camera technology to our SUV and large sedan range as a significant step in improving the safety quotient of our vehicles," Said Startari.
"Safety is a vital facet of vehicle ownership and we are working to offer this important driver aid as standard on as many vehicles as possible in the future. And, where it is not standard, we are working towards an accessory solution," said Startari.
The updated Peugeot 508 and 3008 go on sale March, while upgraded 2008 models are available now.
Improvements to 2008 will be offered at no extra cost to customers.
Full pricing and specification for 508 and 3008 will be announced at launch.
