Suzuki has today confirmed plans to introduce its exciting new
range of motorcycles equipped with Anti-lock Braking System (ABS)
into the Australian market.
ABS-equipped versions of the hugely popular Suzuki Bandit 1250S,
V-Strom 650, both the naked and half-faired SV650 and SV650S models
and Burgman 650 maxi-scooter are due to begin entering the
Australian market in late 2007 and early 2008.
"Suzuki prides itself on offering a wide variety of outstanding
motorcycles to suit riders' various wants, needs and ability
levels, and the introduction of the ABS technology simply
reiterates our commitment to Australian riders," Perry Morison,
General Manager, Motorcycles, Suzuki Australia said.
"We are delighted to continue offering our same broad range of
versatile, high quality, high performance motorcycles, but now
increasing the level of options available with the added choice of
ABS versions across several popular Suzuki models."
Delivering the latest in advanced braking technology, Suzuki's
state-of-the-art ABS monitors brake lever input and wheel speed,
and matches stopping power to the available traction.
Enjoying all the same features as the standard Bandit 1250S, the
new ABS-equipped Bandit 1250SA superbly balances advanced
technology with outstanding power, rider comfort and sports styling
with its 1255cc, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected, DOHC engine,
six-speed transmission, adjustable seat height and sleek
half-fairing.
The versatile V-Strom 650A with ABS retains Suzuki's proven
645cc, liquid-cooled, DOHC, 90-degree V-Twin engine finely tuned to
deliver smooth throttle response and abundant torque across a broad
rpm range with the additional bonus of the latest in braking
technology.
Combining Suzuki's ever-popular 645cc, liquid-cooled, 90-degree
V-Twin powerplant with ABS also creates a winning package for the
new SV650A and SV650SA models.
Boasting a broad powerband and class-leading torque with a
black-coloured mainframe, swingarm and wheels to enhance its modern
appearance, the naked SV650A features a single 70mm multi-reflector
halogen headlight, while the SV650SA has dual multi-reflector
halogen headlights and a half-fairing mounted above the radiator to
allow a clear view of the frame and engine.
Suzuki has also added ABS to its flagship maxi-scooter to create
the Burgman 650 Executive model.
As well as its advanced braking technology, the new ABS-equipped
Burgman 650 Executive also incorporates several exclusive features
including electronically-controlled rearview mirrors and a
height-adjustable windscreen for greater convenience, plus
eye-catching chrome plating on the muffler cover and end cap and
the handlebar end caps for bold, sophisticated styling.
Anticipated to arrive in Australia in the coming weeks sporting
Metallic Grey liveries, the Bandit 1250SA will be available at an
SRP of $12,490 (inc GST) and the V-Strom 650A will carry an SRP of
$10,490 (inc GST). Both models include Suzuki's two-year,
unlimited-kilometre warranty.
The SV650A, SV650SA and Burgman 650 Executive models are
expected to follow in January 2008, with pricing and colours to be
announced closer to the respective arrival dates.
