Muscle cruiser styling meets exceptional high-performance with Suzuki Motorcycles' stunning new 1.8 litre cruiser, the VZR1800... dubbed the Boulevard M109R, it is set to become an exciting addition to Suzuki's already outstanding streetbike range.

In anticipation of the Boulevard M109R's arrival in early 2006, Suzuki Australia has pre-released details of the largest capacity production motorcycle ever created by Suzuki.

"The Boulevard M109R is the most powerful cruiser Suzuki has ever built, and takes the standard of cruiser performance to a new level," Perry Morison, General Manager - Motorcycles, Suzuki Australia said.

Equipped with an enormous 1783cc (109 cubic-inch), 4-valve DOHC, liquid-cooled, fuel injected, 54-degree V-twin engine, the Boulevard M109R is designed to offer strong throttle response and mind-blowing acceleration.

A massive 112mm bore and 90.5mm stroke utilises the largest reciprocating engine pistons of any car or motorcycle in the world - huge 112mm forged aluminium-alloy pistons with short skirts and cut away sides riding on chrome-moly steel connecting rods.

Each cylinder bore is coated with Suzuki's race proven SCEM (Suzuki Composite Electrochemical Material) for optimum heat transfer, tighter piston-to-cylinder clearances and reduced weight.

The new leader of the Boulevard series, the M109R features a new, two-stage cam drive system to create a compact cylinder head design, reduce overall engine height and allow for a lower centre of gravity.

A compact semi-dry sump lubrication system incorporating SASS (Suzuki Advanced Sump System) further reduces engine height, and offers a lower crankshaft position and lower centre of gravity.

The Boulevard M190R features a purpose-built version of the revolutionary Suzuki Dual Throttle Valve (SDTV) electronic fuel injection system with 56mm throttle bodies.

This advanced fuel injection system maintains optimum intake air velocity for smooth throttle response even at low rpm and improves combustion efficiency and torque output.

A strong, five-speed transmission features carefully selected gear ratios to offer riders comfortable cruising across a variety of riding situations.

Fitted with a 2-into-1-into-2, stainless steel, chromed exhaust, the muscular cruiser features Suzuki's digitally controlled SET (Suzuki Exhaust Tuning) system for optimum engine performance and offers up the M109R's satisfying, powerful V-twin sound.

To complement the powerful V-twin engine, the Boulevard M109R features a stylish, innovative, high-performance look with long, sleek, flowing lines.

Supporting the M109R's muscular powerplant is a high-tensile, double-cradle steel frame built to comfortably handle the machine's power and torque while delivering agile handling and a plush smooth ride.

Inverted front cartridge forks with 46mm stanchion tubes provide the Boulevard M109R an aggressive front end look with 130mm of wheel travel.

The Suzuki's cast aluminium-alloy swingarm works with a progressive shock linkage and a spring preload adjustable single rear shock delivering 118mm of wheel travel, working through a shaft drive system.

Incorporating Suzuki's famed GSX-R sportsbike technology, the race-proven brake system includes radial-mounted, opposed-four-piston front calipers with 310mm front brake rotors and a dual piston rear caliper with 275mm rear disc.

Stylised spiral-spoke, cast aluminium-alloy wheels measure 3.50 x 18 inch up front and a massive 8.50 x 18 inch at the rear.

Shod with Dunlop radial tyres to put the Boulevard M109R's awesome power to the road, the front tyre measures 130/80-18, while the rear tyre is a massive 240/40-18 - the widest ever seen on a Suzuki motorcycle.

The big-bore Suzuki's refined, flowing lines begin with a streamlined headlight cover carrying a unique trapezoidal-shaped, multi-reflector halogen headlight through to the maintenance free LED tail-light built into the tail section.

Offering extended touring range, the wide, 19-litre capacity fuel tank flows into integrated side covers, stylish radiator cowl and a comfortable low seat.

The solo-seat cover offers the M109R an aggressive, sporty look and can be quickly and easily swapped for the included passenger seat when required.

A handlebar mounted instrument cluster includes digital tachometer, complementing the tank mounted analogue speedometer and LCD odometer, dual tripmeters, fuel gauge and clock.

The Boulevard M109R's distinctive, new, performance-cruiser styling is completed with large chrome handlebars and long, chrome, slash-cut, dual mufflers.

With price and colours to be announced closer to the release date, the all-new Suzuki Boulevard M109R is estimated to arrive in April 2006 and will feature a two-year unlimited kilometre warranty.
