The hotly-anticipated, all-new 2008 Suzuki GSX-R600 supersport
machine is now available in Australia, after wowing crowds across
the country in sneak preview displays.
Suzuki’s middleweight supersport stunner features the latest
in race-bred technology, with the new generation GSX-R600 receiving
significant upgrades across the board.
“The Suzuki GSX-R600 has always been a class leader thanks to
its potent combination of race-proven technology and world-class
engineering,” Perry Morison, General Manager, Motorcycles,
Suzuki Australia said.
“Suzuki engineers have pushed that even further with the 2008
GSX-R600, improving the package to provide exhilarating
performance, responsive handling and sharp styling.”
Team Joe Rocket Suzuki manager Phil Tainton predicts the new
GSX-R600 will be a pace-setter throughout the 2008 Australian
Supersport Championship.
“This bike has the potential to be a championship winner this
year,” Tainton said.
“The technical information that was recently presented to the
world media in Italy showed very clearly that this new bike should
enable our Supersport rider Josh Waters to perform to his full
potential.
“The Suzuki factory somehow manages to make each model better
than the last.”
The 2008 GSX-R600 is the most powerful and efficient 600cc
four-stroke production motorcycle ever built by Suzuki, with its
compact, four-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine.
Suzuki Drive Mode Selector (S-DMS) offers advanced digital engine
management for instantaneous switching between three engine maps,
to suit rider preference or riding conditions.
An advanced fuel injection system with new downdraft Suzuki Dual
Throttle Valve (SDTV) double-barrel throttle bodies gives the
GSX-R600 more linear throttle response and increased torque.
With an all-new chassis design incorporating race-proven geometry
and a cast aluminium-alloy frame, the GSX-R600 is engineered to
provide superb handling at racetrack speeds.
Showa inverted cartridge forks with 41mm inner tubes feature fully
adjustable spring preload, rebound and compression damping, while
the Showa rear shock absorber also has adjustable spring preload,
rebound damping and both high and low speed compression
damping.
Dual radial-mount, four-piston 310mm floating front discs and a
single-piston rear brake caliper with a 220mm disc equip the
GSX-R600 with impressive stopping power.
The result of extensive wind-tunnel development, the new
Suzuki’s aerodynamics have been further refined and form part
of an edgy and evolutionary new look.
In stunning Pearl Blue / White, Black / Metallic Black or White /
Metallic Silver liveries and backed by a two-year, unlimited
kilometre warranty, the 2008 GSX-R600 is now available from Suzuki
dealers for an RRP of $14,990 (inc GST) plus government and dealer
charges.
