Suzuki's exciting new Gladius SFV650 has landed in Australia,
bringing its unique formula of a sporty V-Twin engine, advanced
technology, slimline chassis and distinctive look to local
streets.
Having wowed audiences since its unveiling late last year, the
Suzuki Gladius is a new and unique concept, combining performance,
style and comfort in a fun package suitable for a broad range of
riders.
"The Gladius really typifies Suzuki's Way of Life approach,"
said Perry Morison, General Manager Motorcycles, Suzuki
Australia.
"It's a sporty, value-packed and stylish motorcycle that really
stands out from the pack and is all about having fun while
riding.
"The reception it has received in previews around the country
since it was unveiled has been incredibly positive; we're excited
about releasing the Suzuki Gladius and adding another dynamic model
to our class-leading street bike range."
A sporty and reliable 645cc, fuel-injected, DOHC, V-Twin engine
was developed from the popular Suzuki SV650's powerplant, giving
the Gladius a broad powerband with impressive low-range torque.
Including Suzuki's advanced Dual Throttle Valve (SDTV) fuel
injection system, Suzuki Composite Electrochemical Materials (SCEM)
cylinder coating and automatic Idle Speed Control (ISC), the
Gladius is fitted with a range of race-bred technology to enhance
performance while reducing maintenance requirements and
emissions.
Spring-preload adjustable front and rear suspension delivers a
smooth ride with predictable handling, while the Gladius is fitted
with front and rear disc brakes.
The Gladius is designed for maximum comfort and practicality -
combining well-balanced and sporty handling with low-speed
manoeuvrability for everyday city use.
A comfortable, slim chassis features curved bodywork and
distinctive styling, with bold colour combinations between the
bodywork and coloured steel tubing on the compact, trellis
frame.
With a stainless steel muffler cover, five-spoke aluminium-alloy
wheels, a sleek 14.5-litre fuel tank and a distinctive
multi-reflector headlight, the Suzuki Gladius has a unique,
European-inspired look.
Comfort is maximised by an upright riding position on the slim
chassis' low and well-padded seat, in relation to tubular
handlebars and footpegs.
A Learner Approved Motorcycle Scheme (LAMS)-approved version of
the Gladius is also available, perfect for use by learner riders in
New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, A.C.T., Tasmania and
the Northern Territory.
The all-new, 2009 Suzuki Gladius SFV650 and the LAMS-approved
Gladius are now available in Blue / White or Black liveries for an
RRP of $10,490\*, backed by a two-year, unlimited kilometre
warranty.
\*RRP includes GST, excludes dealer delivery and government
charges.
