Suzuki Australia has released advance details of its latest junior motocross machines, the RM85 and RM85L Big Wheel.

Loaded with technology from Suzuki's championship-winning motocross weapons, the RM85 provides the perfect vehicle for young riders to learn to race - and learn to win!

The machine of choice in the junior class is available in two wheel size versions, with the RM85L featuring larger wheels plus a longer swingarm and wheelbase to suit larger riders.

Offering our future champions incredible performance, both 85cc machines deliver smooth power with loads of mid-range and lightweight handling.

Producing strong peak power and torque the RM85 features a high-revving 84.7cc, liquid-cooled, case-reed engine with a lightweight SCEM-plated cylinder for superior heat transfer capability.

Aluminium exhaust valves provide more stable exhaust flow, while an RM125-style exhaust valve governor and linkage offers precise valve movement and strong throttle response.

The new RM85 features a Keihin PE28 carburetor for smooth throttle response and simplified maintenance.

Ideal for young riders, the smooth shifting 6-speed transmission is designed for positive shift feel with a knurl-finished gear-shift lever tip, plus an RM125-style clutch lever with long lever stroke for precise clutch operation and feel.

Suzuki's junior motocrosser is equipped with a large-capacity radiator for efficient engine cooling.

Designed for increased rigidity, durability and straight line performance the RM85 chassis features large diameter tubing in key areas and a large front reinforcement plate.

Fitted with an aluminium swingarm, the RM85 incorporates a chain adjustment system similar to that of the RM125 and RM250.

Confidence inspiring suspension, the Showa 37mm inverted forks with fully-adjustable rebound damping and 20-way adjustable compression damping includes fork guards to protect inner fork tubes.

The Showa rear shock absorber with its large diameter shock body and valving is designed to produce a plush feel and increase bottoming resistance.

For positive braking feel, the RM85 includes a twin-piston front brake caliper with RM125 front master cylinder and large 220mm brake discs both front and rear.

The Suzuki includes brake and shift pedals with a thick cross-section, plus chrome-moly footpegs for increased durability and improved rider feel.

Styling inspired by the big RM125 and RM250, the RM85 models feature updated fuel tank, radiator shroud, seat and number plates.

Available in Suzuki's famed Champion Yellow in July, the RM85 sports an SRP of $5,550 and $5,890 for the Big Wheel RM85L. Suggested retail prices include GST.
