Suzuki Australia has unveiled three sensational new models which
will arrive down under in the coming months, including the all-new,
2009 GSX-R1000K9.
The latest version of Suzuki's class-defining superbike and two
new models - the Boulevard M90 cruiser and Gladius - made their
local debuts at the recent Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix to
enthusiastic reviews from racegoers.
"Suzuki is thrilled to unveil the new GSX-R1000, Boulevard M90
and Gladius," said Perry Morison, General Manager Motorcycles,
Suzuki Australia.
"The GSX-R legend speaks for itself, and the all-new 2009 model
is the best yet with significant improvements across the board.
"The Boulevard M90 joins Suzuki's growing cruiser range and the
Gladius is an innovative new concept, they were extremely well
received at Phillip Island so we're looking forward to introducing
them to the Australian market."
Already a proven winner on racetracks around the globe, the
Suzuki GSX-R1000 takes another major step forward with its all-new,
2009 model.
A new and more compact 999cc engine is more powerful and cleaner
running than its predecessor, giving riders impressive power and
torque throughout the entire rpm range and improved throttle
response.
Suzuki's original Drive Mode Selector (S-DMS) system - which
lets riders choose from three engine maps to suit conditions and
their riding style - is among the GSX-R's race-bred technology.
With a shorter wheelbase to produce more-agile handling and a
longer swingarm providing better traction, the new chassis combines
with a revolutionary new front suspension system, enhanced brakes
and wind-tunnel refined bodywork to give the Suzuki an unmatched
overall package.
The latest addition to Suzuki's popular cruiser range, the
Boulevard M90 couples a 90-cubic-inch engine with advanced
technology and head-turning styling.
A V-Twin engine with a digital fuel injection system offers
class leading torque-to-weight and power-to-weight ratios,
impressive fuel economy and a throaty cruiser rumble.
Modern suspension and a laidback riding position deliver a
comfortable ride, while alloy wheels and 200mm-wide rear tyre
complement the Boulevard M90's sleek and flowing lines.
Fun, stylish and comfortable, the Gladius typifies Suzuki's
'Way of Life!' slogan.
Applying some of the engine technology from popular Suzuki
SV650, the Gladius features a sporty, 650cc V-Twin powerplant,
advanced technology and a slim chassis for additional rider
comfort.
With its unique and elegant look, the Gladius stands out from
the pack, highlighted by a compact trellis frame, edgy lines and
coloured steel tubing to match a distinctive engine cover.
Pricing and colour options for the 2009 Suzuki GSX-R1000 and
Gladius will be announced closer to their arrival in the coming
months.
The 2009 Suzuki Boulevard M90 will be available from November in
Metallic Blue or Pearl Black, with pricing details to be
announced.
