Suzuki Australia is excited to unleash its all-new KingQuad 450
into Australia, following the success of the ground-breaking
KingQuad 700 ATV.
The original KingQuad 700 broke the ATV mould and quickly became
a favourite of Australian farmers and the new 450 version is set to
carry on Suzuki’s tradition of excellence.
“The KingQuad 450 brings all the outstanding qualities of
Suzuki’s flagship ATV into the 450 class; rewriting the
standards with class-leading value, styling and performance in all
areas,” Glyn Griffiths, National Marketing Manager –
Motorcycles, Suzuki Australia said.
“Suzuki is very excited about the KingQuad 450’s
entry to the Australian market place, and we are confident it will
follow in the footsteps of the 700 and serve our local farmers
well.”
The new 454cc, single cylinder engine packs a punch, providing a
wide powerband and maximum durability.
A compact and lightweight four-valve cylinder head has been
coupled with large intake valves and straight intake ports,
ensuring increased efficiency, while new Suzuki Plasma Spray
Coating (SPSC) on the cylinder improves heat and friction
resistance.
Essential for Australia’s harsh climate, the aluminium
radiator and cooling fan help keep operating temperatures down.
The KingQuad 450’s electronic fuel injection system
ensures riders benefit from excellent fuel efficiency and throttle
response, along with quick engine starts.
Maintenance is made quick and simple with a quick-access airbox
and a spin-on-type oil filter, which helps reduce the time for oil
changes.
Equipped to handle Australia’s rugged terrain, the
KingQuad 450 features a torque-sensing, limited-slip front
differential, and a QuadMatic CVT-type automatic transmission which
offers versatility and convenience with a wide range of drive
settings.
The KingQuad 450’s advanced engine brake system minimises
downhill freewheeling, with easily-adjustable traction settings
conveniently located on the handlebars.
Mobility and rider comfort were key factors in Suzuki’s
design process, with the high-tensile steel frame balancing weight
and rigidity, coupled with a padded T-shaped seat.
Front suspension is an independent double A-arm setup, providing
180mm of wheel travel, and includes 5-way spring preload adjustable
shock absorbers.
The Suzuki KingQuad 700 introduced independent rear suspension
to the ATV world, and the new KingQuad 450 also incorporates a rear
sway bar and a fully independent, double wishbone, with 5-way
preload adjustable rear suspension, providing 206mm of wheel
travel.
Providing strong and reliable braking performance, the KingQuad
450 is fitted with large 200mm front disc brakes, featuring
newly-designed single-piston calipers.
A sealed multi-plate rear-braking system featuring a clutch-type
design offers reduced unsprung weight, while providing outstanding
durability and low maintenance.
When out on the farm, the under tray of the KingQuad 450 is
protected from front to rear by a durable polyethylene skid
plate.
The whole package is connected to the ground with new Dunlop
tyres featuring a specially designed tread pattern which provides
optimum traction and grip while also offering a comfortable
ride.
From the outside, the KingQuad 450 features tough, aggressive
styling with new black wheels complimenting the Flame Red
bodywork.
Instrumentation is easy to read, with an LCD display unit and
bold LED indicators, while visibility is aided by powerful 30W
halogen multi-reflector headlights.
The KingQuad 450 also contains a 2.8-litre, water resistant
front storage compartment with a new screw-on cap for added
convenience.
The 17.4-litre fuel tank is positioned to ensure a low-centre of
gravity, with steel tube racks and a high-quality wrinkle paint
finish protecting its exterior.
The Suzuki KingQuad 450 is available now in Flame Red at an SRP
of $10,990 (inc GST) and features a 12-month
warranty.
