The all-new, 2009 model of Suzuki's class-leading QuadSport Z400 all-round sports ATV is now available in Australia.

With an all-new fuel-injected engine, the QuadSport Z400 features a range of major developments, including aggressive new styling, a re-designed frame and improved suspension to deliver an unmatched combination of trail riding fun and high-performance attitude.

"The original 2003 model Suzuki QuadSport Z400 rewrote the standards for sports ATV performance," Perry Morison, General Manager, Motorcycles, Suzuki Australia said.

"Each following model has continued to lift the bar, and the 2009 QuadSport Z400 is no different, with the addition of fuel-injection and a host of other improvements creating a high-performance sports ATV that's also suitable for recreational riding in a variety of scenes."

The QuadSport Z400 is powered by a new, compact and lightweight 398cc, DOHC, four-valve engine, which delivers increased low-to-mid range torque in a linear power output.

Now with Suzuki's race-proven fuel-injection system, with a 36mm throttle body and 12-hole injector, riders enjoy smoother and sharper throttle response, stronger high-end power, easier starting and improved fuel efficiency in various environments.

The new powerplant also includes revised cam profile and timing, re-designed intake ports and a new internal muffler structure with a shorter exhaust header, all contributing to the QuadSport Z400's impressive power.

Programmed to deliver excellent traction whatever the terrain, the Suzuki is now fitted with an Engine Control Unit containing a 16-bit CPU and 96-kilobyte ROM unit.

Suzuki's convenient Start-In-Gear feature makes it quicker and easier for riders to get underway, while rider convenience is also maximised by a fender-mounted knob to select reverse gear, as part of a five-speed transmission.

Inspired by the Suzuki QuadRacer R450, ridden by Dustin Wimmer to win the 2008 AMA Pro ATV Championship, the QuadSport Z400 features aggressive new styling to reflect its increased performance, with a slim overall look and bold front end accompanied by edgier fenders.

Beneath the bodywork, the Suzuki's re-designed chassis is made from a lightweight, high-tensile, steel alloy, giving riders responsive handling and a smooth ride.

The frame also incorporates a removable steel sub-frame and swingarm, and handling has been further improved by widening the front track to 960mm.

For quick removal and easier maintenance, the large 9.5 litre fuel tank has two mounting points.

With full adjustability options for preload, compression and rebound damping at the front and rear end, the QuadSport Z400's suspension package has been revised, and provides sporty performance, neutral handling and a comfortable ride.

Double-wishbone front suspension and piggyback-style reservoir shock absorbers deliver 215mm of wheel travel, while the linkage-type rear suspension and piggyback-style shock absorbers offer 230mm of rear wheel travel and 265mm of ground clearance.

Fitted with a new brake pad material, dual front disc brakes and a single disc rear brake provide plenty of stopping power, and riders can now change the front brake lever position more easily with a new QuadRacer R450-style adjustment mechanism.

Rider comfort, freedom and usability have all been improved on the redesigned QuadSport Z400 chassis.

A more user-friendly riding position has been created, with re-positioned handlebars, mud guards and footrests, which have been widened to 46mm to improve the ease of weight shifts while sports riding in conjunction with Suzuki's original T-shaped seat.

The QuadSport Z400 carries Suzuki's iconic Champion Yellow livery and sporty graphics, an aggressive look completed by a QuadRacer R450-inspired front bumper and detachable 40/40W single headlight.

Backed by a 12-month warranty, the 2009 Suzuki QuadSport Z400 is now available in Australia for an RRP of $10,190\*.
