Suzuki’s LT-F500F all-terrain vehicle is now even more
versatile, with the addition of selectable two or four-wheel
drive.
Developed as the ultimate farm worker, this dual-range manual
ATV now provides operators with the choice of efficient,
manoeuvrable two-wheel-drive or go-anywhere four-wheel-drive at the
flick of a lever.
Suzuki’s new QuadRunner LT-F500FK1 also features a new
waterproof 12-volt multi-functional DC outlet, which is ideal for
spraying equipment and other accessories.
"Following on from the success of Suzuki’s automatic
QuadMaster LT-A500F, the new QuadRunner LT-F500F offers more
versatility and operational convenience with the addition of
selectable manual two or four wheel drive," Suzuki Australia`s
National Marketing Manager for Motorcycles, Glyn Griffiths
says.
"It’s a combination that makes a great deal of sense
… combining the versatility of manual gear selection and
drive to the rear or all four wheels means that the motorcycle is
readily adaptable to any situation."
Powering Suzuki’s 2001-model LT-F500F is a 493cc
liquid-cooled single overhead camshaft four-stroke single cylinder
engine mated to a five-speed manual transmission (plus reverse),
with a two-speed secondary dual range (high/low) gearbox for two or
four-wheel drive.
Built around an all-steel frame constructed from large-diameter,
thin-wall tubing for both light weight and great strength, the new
Suzuki QuadRunner also features raised handlebars, thick seat
padding and a long wheelbase for operator comfort.
Underneath, the QuadRunner’s front suspension arrangement
incorporates independent, double wishbones with coil-over
oil-damped shock absorbers, while at the rear it has a link-type
arrangement, again with coil-over oil-damped shock absorbers.
The rear axle also moves with the wheels to maintain ground
clearance no matter what the terrain, while both front and rear
shockers have five adjustable preload settings.
Suzuki`s lightweight cast aluminium alloy wheels also contribute
to suspension performance by reducing unsprung weight, and are
mated to large 25-inch tyres to further increase ground
clearance.
Braking is provided by 206mm dual hydraulic discs at the front,
and a 180mm mechanical drum at the rear with a sealed lip design
for water and mud resistance.
Large protective floorboards with integrated footpegs are also a
feature of the Suzuki QuadRunner, while heavy-duty carry racks
front (30kg) and rear (60kg) are standard. There’s also
another steel front rack which is ready for the addition of an
aftermarket winch.
An easy-access 5.8 litre fully-sealed utility box under the rear
carry rack can be reached without disturbing the carry load.
Finally, the QuadRunner also features appointments like an
easy-to-read speedometer, large fuel gauge, and a charging system
which is capable of reaching 325 Watts.
Suzuki’s QuadRunner LT-F500FK1 is available in the new
colour of Passion Red, comes standard with a one-year unlimited
kilometre warranty, and is priced at a recommended retail
$10,542.71 including GST.
